Such an incredible weekend! I am so impressed by the work ethic and heart my students showed. Our four youth athletes were superstars with 6 medals, 5 of them gold. Johnny and James nailed armbars from guard and mount, Hunter had 6 submissions in 6 matches and Matix won 3 victories in her first tournament and took 4th place. I am so proud of their sportsmanship and composure. In the adults, Sean Waddle put on a show with the Saulo breadcutter in his pro fight, then coached all day, then competed again above his weight class the next day. Coaches William Forbes and Keith were awesome examples, coaching the kids to victory and then later getting a ton of submissions and medals themselves. Ashley won her first purple belt tournament dominating from mount and hunting for the finish. Tessa went through so many wars as usual and keeps looking better every tournament, taking home two bronze medals. Janelle brought the heat in her first tournament at blue belt for a silver. Zach worked the high guard on his way to second place. Hannah looked fierce and went on an armbarring tear to 3rd place. Finn had a nasty guard and Alex showed great composure and they haven't even been training two months and both got 3rd in their divisions. Parker looked great out there with his guard retention and single leg. Plus having my black belt Todd Kornfield and his Catalyst Jiu-Jitsu / Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu Windsor win the team prize after only being open less than a handful of years. I can be hard on these guys and I hold them to very high standards, but they went above and beyond, medaled in 20 out of 22 divisions and brought home a 5th place trophy. Simply awesome. Thanks again to all our coaches, students and parents for all your support! #6blades
